This morning Terri George, along with Kelsey Willey and her son Penn, found loggerhead tracks close to the spot where we left a false crawl marker 13 days ago just north of the Station 26 Street access path. These tracks measured the same as the tracks made there before, but no eggs were found.

The body pit was on top of the low dune and fortunately above the escarpment this time. So when the top egg was discovered, the nest was marked, screened for predators and left to incubate in situ.

Congratulations to the Sullivan's Island team on the first marked nest of 2025!
