Nest 17 was laid on June 24 and discovered by Ann Thompson, Elaine Martin and Karen Novak at 55th Avenue. It contained 106 eggs that were moved above the spring tide line. This morning at sunrise there were lots of red clouds reminding us of the saying "red sky at morning, sailors take warning." Could this be because Hurricane Erin is headed this way? The eggs incubated for 49 days. Only four of them failed to hatch and there were five live hatchlings left in the nest that were released by Elaine to crawl to the water.

Hatch Success was 95.2% and Emergence Success was 90.5%.
