This morning Rita and Paul Koisch came upon a rather strange set of loggerhead tracks when they, along with Carol Gaston, Aelecia Rideout and Aelecias's cousin Allie from Kentucky were covering the IOP section of beach from 30th to 49th Avenue. This turtle must have nested very early the night before because there were no tracks visible below the high tide line, only a very long set of tracks going parallel to the ocean. Barb's grandson, Sam Gobien is visiting and was checking the egg chamber and helping the Team carry equipment and supplies today. The turtle had laid 116 eggs on the beach just above the tide line in the area where service trucks drive regularly near the 32A Access Path. These eggs were moved higher and placed near the 30A path for safe incubation.
