Nest 40 Inventoried

Nest 40 was found on July 29 and was the last one of the season for the Isle of Palms. It was discovered on the beach near 3804 Palm Blvd by Sissy Harris & Barbara Jervey on the beach below the spring tide line. This was Sissy and Barbara's third nest of the season. There were only 71 eggs that were relocated to 3102 Palm Blvd where they incubated for 51 days before the hatchlings emerged from the nest. Three days ago there were lots of hatchling tracks on the beach. And today we found 66 empty eggshells and only 4 undeveloped eggs. All the hatchlings had left the nest and Hatch Success was 92.9%.
