Around 10 pm the Turtle Team was notified by Wild Dunes Security that a loggerhead was laying eggs on the very busy beach near the resort hotel at Grand Pavilion. She was up in the dunes near the more northern elevated swimming pool where the individual houses are located. She was kept safe from disturbance until she finished and went back to the ocean. Aelecia Rideout and Bev Miller were on patrol this morning with their dogs on leashes are credited with this Nest #24. There were 130 eggs that the team counted with the help of two young ladies who did not give us their names. The eggs were moved out of this part of the beach because of the upcoming sand pumping project that will begin this month and continue into the fall. The nest is now located between 30th and 30A Access Paths for safe incubation.
