Nest #4 was laid at Shipwatch in Wild Dunes on May 24, found by Shree Beverly and Penny Gorby and then relocated to the 30A path on Palm Blvd. It was a huge clutch of 161 eggs, the largest nest of the season, that incubated for 57 days before producing hatchlings sometime during the wee hours of Saturday night. After the required three day wait, today's inventory revealed that all but ten of the eggs hatched successfully. There were 16 little hatchlings left in the nest who were released by Shree, Penny and Shree's daughter Caroline to crawl into the water. Hatch Success was 93.1% and Emergence Success was 82.6% once the genetics egg was factored in. The extra large nest was extra successful.
