Nest #34 for Isle of Palms

Nest #34 was found at 612 Ocean Blvd, near the 6A beach access path by Julia Vanderpool who was on patrol with Jennifer and Jeff Laurinitis and Nancy Willms and their dogs this morning. It was a small clutch of only 75 eggs which we see toward the end of nesting season when our loggerheads start to run low on egg-producing follicles. Because it was laid in Reach 3 of the upcoming renourishment area. They were taken to 3012 Palm Blvd for safe incubation. We were happy to see Cambey Merriitt Mikush and her family from Durham, NC visiting her parents on the island. They come to the IOP every summer and love sea turtles. Cambey's daughter, Addie, had very colorful finger and toenails after a manicure. Her twin sons, Percy and Russell, rescued a hatchling on the beach last summer.
