The IOP's third nest was found this morning by Penny Portman, Terri Stafford, Rene Rivlin and Ann Evans at 40th Avenue. This loggerhead didn't crawl very high above the high tide line and laid her eggs in the coarse sand that was pumped in during the 2018 renourishment project at the north end. Liz found the egg chamber containing 109 eggs on the first poke of the probe stick. There was one oval one that resembled a chicken egg. The nest was moved above the spring tide line near the 30A Access Path. (Double Click on photo to see full image)
