On a beautiful calm morning with the sun just rising, Tracy Moses and her husband and dog found loggerhead tracks two doors south of the 34A Access Path. They were covering the section along with Barbara Jervey and Joan Dougherty.

This mother turtle's tracks were 3" smaller than the one who came ashore yesterday on Sullivan's Island. She crawled the wide beach until she got to the very top of a very high primary dune at 3404 Palm Blvd. The field signs she left behind made it doubtful that she laid any eggs, and she slipped down behind the dune toward the houses. But the Turtle Team would not be deterred! We found it on the first poke of the probe stick and there were the eggs! In spite of the coyote den nearby, we left it where it was laid because the location was so good.

Congratulations to Tracy, Barbara and Joan for being the finders of our very first nest of the season!
